Archive Assembly
Wednesday, 5th December 2018 at 19:00
BEEF, Brunswick Club, 15-16 Brunswick Square, Bristol, BS2 8NX
How have artists used video and print to explore the city and its archives? Join artist-programmers and BEEF members David Hopkinson, Angela Piccini and Zoe Tissandier in this screening/presentation which invites us to consider early film and contemporary remixing as ways of thinking through the city, the archive and technologies of circulation.
The first Archive Assembly will reflect on moving images that engage with archives – specifically concepts of print. We may conceive of ‘print’ as industrial process and also as a concept that helps us to consider cut ups, repetition, remixing not to mention the history of cities.
We will be screening some early films as context and David Hopkinson and Zoe Tissandier will present work that relates to the theme of ‘print’.
